We’re currently seeking a 5th Class Power Engineer to join our operations team. This role is based in Ponoka and will support facilities in Ponoka, Rimbey, and Lacombe. It’s a great opportunity for a hands‑on, motivated building operator who enjoys problem‑solving and being part of a supportive, growing organization.

About

The Role

As a 5th Class Power Engineer at Edon, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining the comfort, safety, and efficiency of the buildings we manage. This position involves a balance of daily building operations, preventative maintenance, system monitoring, and responsive customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily building operations, maintenance, and minor repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections of building equipment and systems, identifying deficiencies or inefficiencies
  • Monitor and operate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation, and life safety systems
  • Respond promptly to tenant service requests and emergency situations
  • Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule with team members
  • Support clients through proactive communication and issue resolution
What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate (required)
  • Minimum 2 years of building operations or building maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, and life safety
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem‑solve effectively
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time‑management skills
  • Comfortable using technology and learning new systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Assets (Nice to Have)
  • Experience with Office 365 and Power BI
  • Exposure to large commercial or institutional facilities
