Intermediate / Senior Electrical Engineer
McElhanney, a Western Canadian engineering firm with a 110‑year history and 1,400 employees, invites applications for an Intermediate or Senior Electrical Engineer. The role focuses on electrical engineering design for diverse projects across British Columbia and Alberta, including building systems, roadway and site lighting, traffic signalization, and site & land development.
What You’ll Do- Lead electrical engineering design and provide technical oversight for a range of projects, primarily focused on building systems.
- Manage projects in collaboration with client teams, acting as both representative and key project contributor.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior staff, including EITs and technologists.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure project quality and delivery.
- 8‑15 years of experience in electrical engineering.
- Registered P.Eng in British Columbia or eligible via inter‑jurisdictional transfer.
- Broad project experience across commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial buildings.
- Proficiency in power distribution, communications, lighting, life‑safety, access controls, and security systems.
- Proficiency in utility coordination and building servicing.
- Strong coordination skills with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with drafting in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience in municipal infrastructure, Ministry of Transportation and Transit projects, street lighting, and traffic signals is an asset.
Salary range: $105,000 – $130,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
