We’re currently seeking a 5th Class Power Engineer to join our operations team. This role is based in Ponoka and will support facilities in Ponoka, Rimbey, and Lacombe. It’s a great opportunity for a hands‑on, motivated building operator who enjoys problem‑solving and being part of a supportive, growing organization.
About the RoleAs a 5th Class Power Engineer at Edon, you’ll play an essential role in maintaining the comfort, safety, and efficiency of the buildings we manage. This position involves a balance of daily building operations, preventative maintenance, system monitoring, and responsive customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily building operations, maintenance, and minor repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of building equipment and systems, identifying deficiencies or inefficiencies
- Monitor and operate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building automation, and life safety systems
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and emergency situations
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule with team members
- Support clients through proactive communication and issue resolution
- 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate (required)
- Minimum 2 years of building operations or building maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong working knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, and life safety
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and problem‑solve effectively
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time‑management skills
- Comfortable using technology and learning new systems
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with Office 365 and Power BI
- Exposure to large commercial or institutional facilities
