Design Specialist at FortisAlberta

Become a key player in design as a full-time Design Specialist s role focuses on distribution project designs and requires technical proficiency in various relevant software.

Fortis Alberta seeks a Design Specialist/Technologist for its Operations department based in Airdrie Kingsview or Red Deer Petrolia Park. You will design and apply standard designs for diverse distribution projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering codes. Effective communication with customers and project stakeholders is critical to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Confirm project scope and prepare estimates for diverse designs

• Ensure accuracy of project data in SAP and related tools

• Conduct necessary field checks and assessments

• Identify environmental concerns through Field Reports

• Coordinate installation and commissioning of distribution equipment

Requirements:

• Electrical Engineering Technology diploma preferred

• Civil or Mechanical Engineering diploma with 4 years electrical experience may qualify

• Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license required

• Knowledge of SAP and related design programs

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
