Event & Bar Attendant; Casual

Reporting to the Hospitality Services Coordinator, the Event & Bar Attendant is an enthusiastic, customer service driven position assisting on delivering, servicing and implementing Ancillary and Sport Services ( ANSS ) events across campus. The Event & Bar Attendant is responsible for maintaining client satisfaction during events, is diplomatic when dealing with clients and troubleshoots calmly and effectively. This position provides high-quality bartending and concession services during conferences and events that take place at the Red Deer Polytechnic Arts Centre, Gary W.

Harris Canada Games Centre, and a variety of additional venues across main campus. This position also assists ANSS with a variety of initiatives and projects as required in support of client service excellence.

• Event Execution & Customer Service:
  Performs operations pertaining to user group bookings and events; sets up and takes down equipment; basic AV troubleshooting to ensure clients can operate technology; meets and greets clients; liaises with internal and external contractors to troubleshoot during events; provides excellent customer service; prepares delegate conference packages, nametags, and staffs registration tables; assists with décor creation and setup; reports issues and feedback;
  
  supports ticketing services; may maintain a cash float and perform a cashout; makes key customer service decisions; works independently when needed; adheres to institutional procedures; listens with empathy and responds appropriately; communicates Health and Safety procedures to clients; moves equipment and furniture as required; presents a professional appearance.
• Bar Service & Concession Service:
  Provides quality bar and concession service; sets up and cleans up bar service; restocks and inventories items.
• Other Related Duties:
  Provides coverage for other positions during peak periods or due to absences as determined by leadership; performs other tasks or projects as directed; provides campus tours when necessary; other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• AGLC Pro-Serve
• Class 5 Driver's License
• Criminal Record Check

Salary: $17.98 per hour

Benefits and Compensation Information:
An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
