Bring confident public speaking to Red Deer Polytechnic Kings and Queens game nights as the primary voice for athletic events. Hours vary with game schedules.
The Public Address Announcer supports Athletics events through prepared scripts, live game commentary, music, and public announcements. This role includes announcing lineups, player substitutions, contests, presentations, and venue information. The announcer also serves as master of ceremonies during special events.
Key Responsibilities:- Announce starting lineups, game action, substitutions, and programs
- Read prepared scripts for games and special events
- Play approved music and support sound system setup
- Guide crowds through procedures and emergency situations
- Improvise commentary about events and participants
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of public speaking experience
- Experience handling conflict
- Energetic, enthusiastic interest in Athletics
- Knowledge of athletic games is an asset
Use public speaking, crowd awareness, and game-night communication skills to represent Red Deer Polytechnic Athletics.
