Take on the essential role of a Communications Operator with the RCMP, fielding calls and supporting Municipal Enforcement Officers while ensuring public safety through effective communication practices.
This role necessitates expertise in police databases and the capability to make high-stakes decisions swiftly. You'll triage non-emergency calls, maintain detailed records, and provide valuable mentorship to new operators. Your administrative accuracy will ensure compliance with standards that prioritize officer safety and community service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and triage service requests from the public
• Maintain and audit records in systems like PROS and CPIC
• Communicate information accurately using professional jargon
• Track statistics and ensure detailed documentation
• Mentor and support other team members in operations
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education; 3 years in police communications preferred
• Ability to complete required RCMP certification courses
• Must hold RCMP Security Clearance
• Availability to work shifts, evenings, and weekends
• Proficient typing skills of 50 wpm
