The Opportunity:

The City of Red Deer is currently hiring a regular, full-time Reviewer Analyst in Municipal Policing Services. The primary duties of a Reviewer Analyst is to perform daily checks, reviews, corrections, audits and to monitor and control a large volume of operational files for the RCMP municipal detachment; ensuring accurate records are maintained in compliance with RCMP, PROS, and CPIC policies through the daily use of all relevant police databases, computer related software and communication devices.

As a subject matter expert, reviewers oversee and analyse files for data and statistical accuracy, identify short comings of investigations and direct those to RCMP supervisors and returns all incomplete files to internal stakeholders for correction and completion; then performs final file review. In addition, this role acts as a resource, coach and mentor to the detachment in regards to PROS and any other databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, analyze, and maintain police occurrence files in PROS to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with RCMP standards, legislation, and organizational policies.
  • Audit and validate operational data, including Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) scoring, to support accurate crime statistics and reporting.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct data quality issues, record discrepancies, and duplicate entities to maintain the integrity of police records systems.
  • Provide expert guidance, training, and support to officers and staff on records management processes, reporting requirements, and the use of PROS.
  • Conduct detailed research, operational queries, and file reviews to support investigations, criminal record checks, intelligence requests, and information requests.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain information, resolve file-related issues, and ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
As our preferred candidate, you will have:
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years’ post secondary education in a related field would be an asset.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years’ of direct Police Officer experience with an accredited Law Enforcement Agency including current statistical reporting procedures and methodology
  • Minimum 3 years’ operational supervisory experience
Conditions of Employment:
  • Ability to pass RCMP security clearance prior to receiving an offer of employment
  • Must maintain RCMP security clearance throughout employment
