EHS Specialist - Amazon - Acheson, AB

Amazon is looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing safety programs, training employees, and ensuring compliance with Amazon’s global safety standards. You will play a key role in fostering a positive safety culture while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

This position requires risk assessment experience, familiarity with Canadian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws, and the ability to train and coach employees on safety practices.

The EHS Specialist (WHSS) will act as the safety representative for their assigned facility, coordinating and implementing Amazon’s global safety program. You will be responsible for:

• Conducting safety training and coaching employees on safe work practices.
• Maintaining accurate safety metrics (daily, weekly, monthly) for reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with Amazon’s WHS standards and federal/provincial safety regulations.
• Performing job hazard analysis (JHA) and recommending risk mitigation measures.
• Monitoring workplace ergonomics and implementing safety improvements.
• Working flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends as needed.

This role is crucial in reducing workplace risks and ensuring that Amazon employees work in safe and healthy conditions.

Pay Range: Competitive, based on experience

• 1+ years of experience in Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) or a related field.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word for professional documentation.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in safety and personnel matters.
• Knowledge of Canadian Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) laws.

• Experience in emergency response.
• Knowledge of workers’ compensation case management.
