Position: Peer Support Worker for WERC Program
Empower individuals in the Red Deer WERC Program as a Peer Support Worker for Ballad Group. Use your lived experience to guide coaching sessions and group discussions aimed at enhancing employability.

This Independent Contractor role involves working up to 15 hours a week, closely collaborating with the Program Supervisor. You will facilitate one-on-one and group conversations, focusing on Trauma-Informed Care while creating a safe and inclusive environment. The position is crucial for assisting unemployed Albertans in overcoming barriers to workforce participation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver structured one-on-one coaching and peer group support

• Establish strong therapeutic alliances with participants

• Implement Trauma-Informed Care in all interactions

• Document activities accurately and respectfully

• Ensure culturally safe services for diverse groups

Requirements:

• High School Diploma mandatory; peer support training preferred

• Minimum of one year in a relevant role

• Experience in trauma-informed practices beneficial

• Strong active listening and communication skills

• Willingness to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check
