Elevate therapeutic recreation at the Halvar Jonson Center for Brain Injury as a Recreation Therapist I. Engage with patients through diverse activities and collaborative care practices.
In this full time position, you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide specialized recreation therapy for patients with acquired brain injuries. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing therapy plans, assessing patient needs, and ensuring evidence-based practices throughout programming. Strong collaboration with residents, families, and the care team is essential to foster holistic support for each patient's journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan individual and group recreational activities
• Assess and develop tailored therapy plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Communicate effectively with patients and families
• Participate in patient rounds and meetings
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or equivalent
• Active registration with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association
• Six months experience in brain injury rehabilitation
• Basic Life Support certification required
• Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
