High School Counsellor

Make a difference as a Family School Liaison Counsellor within Red Deer Public Schools. Help nurture the social and emotional health of students and their families.

This role offers two term positions at Hunting Hills and Lindsay Thurber High Schools, focusing on the mental wellness of students in a supportive environment. You will deliver focused counseling services while working closely with school staff and community partners. The position necessitates some flexibility in working hours to support emerging student needs effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on counseling strategies for youth

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions

• Lead mental health awareness presentations in classrooms

• Respond effectively during crises in schools

• Record and manage client case documents diligently

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or equivalent

• Registration with ACSW or College of Alberta Psychologists preferred

• Experience working with children and teens

• Familiarity with addiction and mental health issues

• Strong communication and organizational abilities
