You work well under pressure and are able to prioritize workload and adapt to stressful and emergency situations using tact and diplomacy. You can follow lab and diagnostic imaging processes and procedures exactly, including hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen collection, preparation, referral, cardiology and general diagnostic imaging.

Olds Hospital and Care Centre is a busy site where you will work both independently and as part of a team utilizing your organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. The position includes days, evenings, weekends and on call duties. Olds is a bustling community located just off of Highway 2 between Red Deer and Calgary. It is a thriving community but still maintains a welcoming small town atmosphere.

Description:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT).

Required Qualifications:

Recent relevant experience as a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist performing procedures in a core laboratory including hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, specimen collection, preparation and general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs.
