  • Pay or shift range: $162,693 CAD to $203,366 CAD. Please note that the successful candidate will be offered an annual salary that falls within the posted salary range, and in alignment with our internal pay equity practices.
Description VP IT Operations

We're looking for a VP IT Operations to join our team! This position is integral to the function of our organization, responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and ongoing operations of Information Technology Operations at Innovation Federal Credit Union. As a key member of our leadership team, you will ensure our technology environment is secure, resilient, and positioned to enable exceptional member experiences and business growth.

You’ll bring a strategic and operational mindset, translating enterprise and technology strategies into scalable, reliable IT operations that align with business priorities, risk management, and regulatory expectations.

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for IT Operations, including infrastructure, cloud platforms (Azure), Microsoft 365, and enterprise systems
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams through coaching, mentorship, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Ensure IT services are reliable, secure, and optimized to support strong member and employee experiences
  • Drive maturity and continuous improvement in IT Service Management practices, including incident, problem, change, and capacity management
  • Translate enterprise strategy into multi-year operational plans, roadmaps, and investment priorities
  • Manage IT Operations budgets and ensure cost-effective use of resources, including vendor and third-party partnerships
  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure and cloud environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and resilience
  • Establish strong governance, standards, and control frameworks to support regulatory compliance and operational excellence
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring readiness through regular testing and alignment to business needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Security, Architecture, Data, and Platforms) to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Proven experience leading IT Infrastructure, IT Operations, and IT Service Management
  • Strong knowledge of cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with enterprise infrastructure, including networking across traditional and cloud environments
  • Advanced ITIL designations are considered an asset
  • Azure and/or Cisco certifications are an asset
  • Experience managing third‑party vendors and outsourced services
  • Experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing
  • Experience in a regulated financial services environment (e.g., OSFI, COBIT) is considered an asset
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to drive enterprise outcomes
  • High level of digital literacy, including critical thinking, problem solving, and navigating modern technology solutions
