This night shift role supports uninterrupted production flow and allows technicians to focus on detailed prep and paint work in a quieter, structured setting. You will work on a wide range of heavy-duty equipment including Freightliner, Thomas Built, Sport Chassis, Autocar, and other vocational units, contributing directly to high-quality repairs and customer satisfaction.

The RoleThis position is responsible for supporting body shop operations through high-quality preparation and painting of heavy-duty vehicles during night shift hours. The Prepper / Painter plays a key role in ensuring repaired units meet quality, finish, and delivery standards.
ResponsibilitiesPrep and Paint Work – 80% of your time is spent here
Prepare vehicles and components for paint, including sanding, masking, filling, and priming
Mix paints and materials according to specifications and safety standards
Apply paint and coatings using appropriate equipment and techniques
Ensure finishes meet quality, colour match, and durability standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Accurately track time and document work completed on repair orders
Follow established paint and prep procedures to ensure consistency and quality
Communicate issues or concerns related to materials, equipment, or repairs
Review work instructions and repair notes provided by Body Shop Advisors
Support final inspections and touch-ups as required
Assist with shop organization, material handling, and cleanup
Follow all safety, environmental, and workplace procedures
Body Shop Prepper or Painter training is an asset
Experience with heavy-duty or automotive paint systems is an asset
Valid Class 5 driver’s license is required
Previous experience as a body shop prepper, painter, or paint assistant preferred
Experience in a heavy-duty or automotive body shop environment is an asset
Ability to follow repair procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements
Comfortable working independently during night shift hours
Strong attention to detail and pride in finish quality
Reliability and consistency, especially in a night shift environment
Willingness to learn, follow process, and support the team
