CNC Machine Operator

Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of CNC Machine Operator in our Red Deer, AB location. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Shifts: 6:00am-2:30pm and 11:30am-9:00pm

Safety: Our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation.

• Ensure safe procedures are followed while performing job responsibilities
• Comply with workplace policies and procedures (operational and health and safety)
• CNC programming of machines
• Form products within established tolerances and to customer specifications
• Complete in-process quality checks to ensure accuracy is within shop tolerance
• Maintain an organized inventory and perform inventory counts as required
• Handle heavy material using overhead cranes, forklifts or other material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner while loading/unloading the machine
• Perform daily preventative maintenance checks and report any unsafe processes or equipment
• Work with the Scheduling Department to ensure that daily production and on time requirements are met
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by management

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Shift work required: 6:00am-2:30pm & 11:30am-9:00pm
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Ability to operate the overhead cranes and forklift
• Previous experience with programming and operating CNC press brakes is required
• Proficient in performing mathematical calculations with ability to read a tape measure and calipers
• Self-motivated, results oriented
• Preference will be given to applicants with programming/drafting/operation experience in a metal fabrication setting
