We currently have an opening at our Red Deer facility for a dynamic leader with a proven track record as a Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling, providing direction, coordinating, training, and leading crew to achieve or exceed planned safety, production, quality, and recovery targets while minimizing costs and labor relations issues.
  • Drive results by optimizing operations to increase productivity and improve Yield and First Pass Yield.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of safety, health, environmental, and quality programs.
  • Plan, align, and direct daily production activities to meet or exceed daily production requirements and monthly shipping plan.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Work with operators and stakeholders to solve problems effectively.
  • Provide or arrange training for employees to meet job standards.
  • Support all company and regulatory requirements and report mechanical/electrical concerns immediately.
  • Engage employees in continuous improvement to identify and eliminate waste.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field; engineering degree preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of industrial operations experience; experience in steel/pipe facilities preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a team and overseeing work.
  • Demonstrated business operations and process improvement experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to support a 24/7 production schedule and overtime on short notice.
