Nurse Practitioner – Indigenous Services Canada (Services aux Autochtones Canada)

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) is seeking experienced registered nurses to join nursing teams in First Nations communities in Alberta. As a key member of the team, you will perform a full scope of practice and provide a broad range of services unique to community nursing.

Nurse Practitioners deliver comprehensive primary health care services to clients at every stage of life. They may include autonomous diagnosis and illness treatment, ordering and interpreting tests, prescribing medications, performing minor medical procedures, and educating clients and families about healthy living, disease prevention and illness management.

• Eligibility: Persons residing in Canada, Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
• Preference: Veterans first, then Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
• Experience: At least two years of independent clinical experience as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, in Acute Care, Intensive Care, or Primary Care Clinic settings.
• Education: Registered Nurse credential.

You will be flown via ISC charters to your assigned community for the duration of your rotation. Work posts include remote and isolated First Nations communities within Alberta.

Full‑time and part‑time opportunities available.

Travel/outpost nursing rotations may vary and will include a combination of days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Base salary: CA $120,156 to CA $136,540 per year (pensionable), plus applicable allowances. Salary and allowances are prorated based on scheduled work hours and may vary with work location.

Recruitment & retention allowances: up to CA $6,750 after one month, up to CA $9,750 after twelve months, up to CA $16,500 annually as a retention allowance starting at year 2 (prorated as above).

All Nurse Practitioners will have access to support from Nurse Practice Consultants and a Nurse Practitioner community of practice.
