Park Maintenance Worker; Writing--Stone and Cypress Hills Provincial Park

Overview

Park Maintenance Worker in Cypress Hills Provincial Park (Elkwater) or Writing‑on‑Stone Provincial Park (Aisinai’pi) for the 2026 summer season. Full‑time up to 40 hours per week on a seasonal basis.

• Perform landscaping, building cleaning, and site servicing of campgrounds, day‑use areas, and facilities.
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance of infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment.
• Collect garbage and recycling.
• Operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, ATVs, and skid steers.
• Assist with trail, beach, and dock maintenance; install and maintain signage.
• Report major maintenance concerns to supervisor; assist with hazard tree and invasive plant management.
• Complete administrative tasks (timesheets, expense claims, online courses).

• Some high school education or equivalent experience.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License and a 3‑year Driver’s Abstract (no more than 6 demerits).
• Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level “C” or AED Certificate.
• WHMIS Certificate.
• Experience with hand and power tools; knowledge of small‑equipment maintenance.
• Experience in custodial, landscaping, or related positions.
• Chainsaw certification (asset).
• Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in all weather.

• Seasonal contract:
  May–September (Cypress Hills) or April–October (Writing‑on‑Stone).
• Outdoor work in varying weather; evening, weekend, holiday shifts required.
• CSA steel‑toe footwear required.
• On‑site shared housing may be available for rent upon request.
• Travel expenses not reimbursed; out‑of‑province applicants must obtain required documents locally.
