Become a Research Technician at Olds College of Agriculture and Technology and contribute to innovations in livestock production. Engage in projects that prioritize animal health.
As part of the Technology Access Centre for Livestock Production (TACLP), you will assist in research projects aimed at enhancing livestock management practices. This role encompasses hands-on livestock care, data management, and teamwork to address challenges in beef and sheep production. Your passion for learning and research will enhance project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct livestock handling, feeding, and processing
• Organize sample collections for research purposes
• Collect data and manage databases effectively
• Implement new techniques to improve data accuracy
• Support other team initiatives and duties as requested
Requirements:
• Two years post-secondary education in animal-related fields
• Must be physically fit for outdoor work year-round
• Strong organization and multitasking capabilities
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
• Livestock handling and research experience is preferred
