Full-time vacant permanent position – Hybrid (Red Deer, AB).
About the RoleThe Canada Homestay Network Society is a family‑run, non‑profit organization that has helped tens of thousands of students find a home away from home in Canada. We seek a Relationship Manager based in Red Deer, AB to build and maintain relationships among students, hosts, schools, and internal stakeholders, ensuring a safe and supportive homestay experience.
It is a Hybrid role, operating from home and in person at partner schools or offices, with an hourly wage of $19.00–$21.00. The position is full‑time permanent, 30 hours per week, with core hours 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. local time. Flexibility may be required for evenings or weekends for events or emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and manage relationships between internal and external stakeholders
- Support homestay hosts, natural parents, and students in interpreting cultural practices
- Plan and deliver in‑person training to hosts and orientations for new students
- Communicate and maintain accurate records
- Build a supportive local community of host families
- Support student and host family relationships throughout their program
- Respond to crisis situations promptly and refer cases to health professionals when appropriate
- Work in person with intake and school meetings
- Assume custodianship for local community students under 18, up to 100 km
- Travel amongst the local community and surrounding areas
Core hours are 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. local time, with possible evenings and weekends for events or emergencies.
Qualifications & Requirements- At least two years of homestay or related work experience
- One‑year Community College Certificate or Diploma
- International experience, including hosting students or traveling abroad (preferred)
- Ability to plan events and comfortability with public speaking
- Great judgement and decision‑making skills while exercising confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with potential high‑stress situations
- Exceptional customer service skills and experience
- Excellent Word, Excel, Email, and database skills
- Ability to communicate confidently in English; speaking a second language is ideal
- Superior organizational skills and ability to hold yourself accountable while working independently
- Strong ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues and clients
The role requires the candidate to be at least 25 years old and to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. The candidate must have a full and valid driver’s licence, a reliable vehicle with a minimum of 2 million auto insurance liability coverage, and must pass a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector check.
