Family School Liaison Counsellor

Join Red Deer Public Schools as a Family School Liaison Counsellor, supporting students' social and emotional well-being. Work in a school-based environment with a focus on mental wellness through collaboration and individualized care.

This position involves providing compassionate counseling services to students and families, either full-time or part-time for the 2026-27 school year. You will collaborate with school staff and community service providers, delivering various interventions for challenges such as anxiety, grief, and relationship issues. The role requires flexibility, as your work schedule will align with school hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate one-on-one and group counseling sessions

• Collaborate with educators to implement skill-focused interventions

• Present mental health programs in classrooms

• Provide crisis response within school settings

• Assist families with referrals to community resources

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as Social Work

• Registration or eligibility with ACSW or similar

• Experience in counseling children and youth preferred

• Knowledge of mental health and trauma-informed practices

• Strong communication and organizational skills
