Position: The Mustard Seed Community Support Role
Become a vital part of The Mustard Seed in Red Deer, Alberta, as a Community Support Worker. This part-time role focuses on engaging with community members and providing essential social services.

As a Community Support Worker under the Community Impact Centre Supervisor, you will help implement crucial programs aimed at alleviating poverty and addressing homelessness. Your work will involve interacting directly with guests and volunteers, ensuring they feel safe and welcomed while accessing various services. You will also handle administrative tasks, fight against stigmas, and promote a healthy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist community members with intake processes

• Ensure daily cleanliness of the Centre

• Provide crisis de-escalation when needed

• Collaborate on community development initiatives

• Support in emergencies and program facilitation

Requirements:

• Social Work or related degree preferred

• Minimum of 1 year working with vulnerable individuals

• Strong communication and networking capabilities

• Knowledge of community programs

• Self-directed with the ability to work independently
