Community Support Worker

Position: Community Support Worker Role
Make a difference in the lives of others as a Community Support Worker in Red Deer with The Mustard Seed. Focus on providing support and facilitating essential programs for the community.

In this part-time role, you’ll report to the Community Impact Centre Supervisor and play a key role in delivering services that assist those experiencing poverty and homelessness. Your social services experience will be invaluable in creating a welcoming and safe environment for guests, volunteers, and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests and collect necessary information

• Ensure a healthy and safe environment for all

• Use de-escalation techniques when necessary

• Build trust with participants and volunteers

• Support emergency response initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field

• Minimum 1 year in community-based initiatives

• Experience assisting vulnerable populations

• Familiarity with community development strategies

• Effective communication and relationship-building skills
