Child Youth Care Worker

Join Catholic Social Services as a full-time Child Youth Care Worker in Red Deer. Support young individuals with unique needs while promoting positive development and community connections.

This contractual position involves working collaboratively within a team to provide essential care for children and youth requiring stabilization and skill support.

Your role is vital in creating a safe environment, ensuring nutritious meals, and fostering healthy attachment with age-appropriate boundaries. Assist youth in engaging with social, educational, and recreational activities while developing their decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide client-centered support for children with special needs

• Foster a safe and nurturing environment for youth

• Ensure the provision of nutritious meals and supervision

• Plan and engage in daily positive activities

• Support personal needs and healthy emotional development

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in relevant human services field

• 2+ years of experience with complex needs youth

• Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification

• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check required

• Valid class 5 driver’s license and insurance
