Child and Youth Care Worker

Join Catholic Social Services as a full-time Child and Youth Care Worker in Red Deer, delivering compassionate support to young individuals with unique needs. Collaborate with a dedicated team to foster nurturing relationships and promote personal growth.

In this role, you'll provide essential care and engagement for children and youth in residential settings. Focus on creating a safe environment that promotes positive attachment and development by addressing basic needs, supervising activities, and ensuring participation in recreational and educational opportunities. Your efforts will directly contribute to the stability and skill development of those you support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents

• Provide nutritious meals and supervision during activities

• Create and follow an orderly daily schedule

• Support children in developing decision-making skills

• Encourage participation in social and recreational events

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Disability Services, Social Work, or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with complex needs

• Knowledge of community events is a plus

• Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification

• Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check
