Child Youth Care Worker

Support youth through trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and mentorship as a Temporary Casual Child and Youth Care Worker in Red Deer. Shifts include days, evenings, and awake overnights.

This Child and Youth Care Worker role supports children and youth with complex behavioural, emotional, and trauma-related needs. You will build trusted relationships, model healthy boundaries, and provide consistent emotional support. The work includes individualized therapeutic planning and daily documentation.

• Build trust through playful engagement and mentorship
• Guide youth through crises using intervention strategies
• Teach coping skills and model healthy boundaries
• Organize games, cooking, and life-skills activities
• Document daily activities and observations carefully

• Passion for supporting youth with complex needs
• Patience, compassion, and calmness during difficult situations
• Knowledge or willingness to learn trauma-informed care
• Reliable four-door vehicle for transportation
• Alberta Class 5 license, checks, insurance, and First Aid
