City Wide Towing has an opening available for a full time Medium Duty Wrecker Operator at our Red Deer office. You will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional towing and recovery services to our clients. This position requires a commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and the ability to operate various towing equipment effectively. Responsibilities:

  • Operate towing vehicles safely and efficiently to recover vehicles as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients during their time of need.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on towing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding job status and updates.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while on the job site.
  • Assist with minor automotive repairs when necessary.
  • Use and manage E-Logs.
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Commercial driving experience
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Proven experience in customer service roles, preferably in the automotive or towing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Red Deer and area
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Able to maintain records and provide reports
  • Recent clear criminal record check (employer-paid)
  • Recent driver’s abstract (employee-paid)
  • Must pass drug, alcohol, and fit-to-work test
  • Able to work independently and with a team
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Air brakes certification is an asset (Q Endorsement)
  • Previous towing experience is an asset
  • Ability to take direction, learn and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Motivated and energetic team player with an attention to detail and great work ethic
  • Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • Rotating shifts which include days, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Perform moderate to heavy tasks for long periods of time
  • Work primarily outdoors in all weather
  • Lift/push/pull up to 100lbs regularly
  • Travel may include local, provincial, and inter-provincial routes
  • May assist at accident scenes with emergency personnel
