Job Title:
Lead Hand / Driver - Hinton/Rimbey

Position Summary

The Lead Hand / Driver is responsible for supporting daily operations by leading a small team while safely operating company vehicles, including a League NSC truck. This role requires strong leadership, hands-on work ethic, and proven experience in commercial driving and logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and drive a League NSC truck in compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards
  • Lead by example on-site, providing direction and support to crew members
  • Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs and documentation
  • Ensure proper loading, securing, and unloading of materials
  • Monitor job progress and communicate updates to supervisors
  • Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and operational efficiency
  • Assist with training and mentoring new or junior staff
  • Troubleshoot minor issues in the field and elevate concerns when needed
Qualifications & Experience
  • Valid driver’s licence with ability to operate a League NSC truck (NSC compliance required)
  • Ground Disturbance Level II certification (required)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a driving and/or field operations role
  • Previous leadership or lead hand experience is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety regulations and best practices
  • Clean driver’s abstract with a strong safety record
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic vehicle inspections
