Labourer, Highway Maintenance Summer Seasonal

Position Overview

We are seeking seasonal Labourers to help keep Alberta’s highways safe. Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license and be available for shiftwork, on‑call duties, and night shifts. Pay ranges from $20.50 to $23.75 per hour based on experience, with a $3 per hour night shift premium. The role is based in Red Deer, AB (27420 Township Road 374).

• Preference is given to local applicants; no camp or leave of absence is provided.
• Work may involve shift work, on‑call duties, and night shifts due to weather patterns.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.

• Perform highway maintenance tasks such as crack sealing, asphalt patching, flagging, and message painting.
• Assist with traffic control procedures.
• Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Carry out other road maintenance duties as required.

• Successfully complete pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Physically capable of performing demanding outdoor tasks.
• Must possess a Class 5 driver’s license and a clear 3‑year driver’s abstract.
• Previous experience as a traffic controller or in flagging is a strong asset.
