The City of Red Deer is seeking five permanent part-time Transit Operators to operate public transit vehicles. This role emphasizes safety and comfort for passengers while adhering to transit schedules. Operators will be responsible for various routes and ensuring compliance with fare procedures and vehicle operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate public transit on assigned routes

• Monitor passenger safety and behavior during rides

• Manage fare collection and address payment issues

• Maintain knowledge of transit equipment and report issues

• Perform light maintenance and service-related tasks

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 education

• 1 to 2 years of commercial driving experience

• Class 2 Alberta Operator’s License with Q endorsement

• Knowledge of basic traffic laws and regulations

• Ability to communicate effectively with patrons
