Full-Time Transit Bus Operator

Become a Transit Bus Operator with the City of Red Deer, Alberta. This full-time role is focused on safe driving, passenger comfort, and effective transit service.

The City of Red Deer seeks three permanent full-time Transit Bus Operators. You will operate public transit vehicles, adhere to schedules, and ensure passenger safety while providing excellent customer service. Key responsibilities include monitoring rider behavior and managing fare collection accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate transit vehicles on designated routes

• Ensure passenger safety and comfort at all times

• Manage fare collection and customer interactions

• Maintain knowledge of transit equipment and report issues

• Perform light maintenance during non-driving time

Requirements:

• Completed Grade 12 or equivalent experience

• 1-2 years of commercial driving experience preferred

• Valid Class 2 Alberta Operator's License with Q endorsement

• Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations

• Ability to communicate effectively with the public
