Job Summary
Reporting to the Yard Manager, the Yard Shipper / Receiver is responsible for efficiently, effectively, and accurately receiving products into the designated UFA location; placing them in appropriate storage locations; picking, packing, and shipping the same for outbound orders to all customers. Assist in all other functions as required. Must adhere to all UFA customer service standards, ensuring members/customers are served promptly, inventory is handled accurately and safely, and equipment is maintained.
Responsibilities- Participate in all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory functions, ensuring accurate daily completion of all receiving, shipping, inventory control, and administrative/IFS requirements.
- Perform maintenance on inventory or cycle counts as directed.
- Operate all material handling equipment and assist in forklift and equipment maintenance.
- Load and unload trucks, following UFA loading and unloading procedures to secure products safely.
- Conduct location inventory in prescribed manner and maintain yard/warehouse appearance in compliance with UFA safety regulations and operational standards.
- Own the Aisle area of assigned responsibility in the yard to ensure merchandising and inventory standards are consistently maintained.
- Make deliveries when required.
- Grade 12 diploma with 1–2 years of related experience, or 3–5 years of related experience without a Grade 12 diploma.
- Warehouse/Yard and forklift experience.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
- Basic computer proficiency; may be cross‑trained on POS system. Previous cash handling experience is an asset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must keep certifications current, including WHMIS and TDG.
- Flexible to accommodate shift work.
This is a safety‑sensitive position accessed on UFA facilities and operating UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant must pass a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
