Overview
The Construction Engineer at GCON will be responsible for assisting the project engineer, project manager, and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, and construction supervision efforts. This role will also be assigned to the field operations team to assist in obtaining, evaluating, and coordinating all information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents.
The candidate should feel comfortable taking on various tasks, appropriately prioritizing their completion, and ensuring that the work meets all safety standards, schedule requirements, and is constructed to the highest level of quality possible. Each day will be different, and the Construction Engineer shall be responsible for the protection and promotion of the interest of GCON in all matters.

- Assist with document control process and maintenance of current contract documents.
- Utilize project closeout checklist to assemble project closeout documents as they are generated.
- Input Potential Change Orders (PCO) and Issues in CMiC, accurately.
- Ensure pricing data is accurate and process flow of approvals is followed.
- Participate in monthly payment application process and subcontractor invoice reviews and approvals.
- Understand Request for Information (RFI) and submittal processes and impact to risk mitigation.
- Input correct data into CMiC.
- Assist with preparation of assembling Contract Items List (CIL) and compliance.
- Assist in monthly GC/GR forecasting and management.
- Understand basic scheduling and assist with assembly of Long Lead Matrix; understand how documents are coordinated with Submittal Log and Project Schedule milestones.
- Help develop subcontract labor projections for field to support Superintendent needs.
- Complete/have completed OSHA 30-hour training with current certificate and complies with all safety regulations.
- Complete field walks to gain thorough understanding of JHA’s and pretask planning. Review for understanding field safety and compliance items.
- Understand importance of Daily Construction Reports (DCR) and review for accuracy.
- Assist in developing pre-assembly meeting agendas and minutes.
- Understand and assist with implementing project-specific Quality Control (QC) Plan.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of risks associated.
- Work with project staff to incorporate safety preplanning into all phases of the projects.
