Position

Description

As an Applebee’s® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of daily restaurant operations, leading a team to ensure guests and staff are passionate about their experience. You will be a problem‑solver who handles stress, rises above challenges, and enjoys the work.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.
  • Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee’s Premier Card of core values and beliefs.
  • Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff.
  • Ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee’s standards.
  • Maintains departmental inventory levels.
  • Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meet company standards by performing line checks.
  • Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands.
  • Maintains effective safety and security programs.
  • Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Performs routine maintenance and immediately reports needed repairs to the General Manager/Area Director.
  • Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates.
  • Promotes Flynn | Applebee’s training procedures for new managers.
  • Helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems.
  • Participates in the constant development of employees using One‑on‑One meetings and performance documentation, contributing to written evaluations.
  • Assesses employee efficiency, provides fair feedback regularly, and works with employees on development areas.
  • Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations that may lead to disciplinary or corrective action.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Controls cost in the assigned department.
  • Complies with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Drives bi‑weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM’s request and is accountable for completion.
  • Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork.
  • Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee’s standards.
  • Provides a role model for managers and employees.
  • Develops self on all store‑related technology.
  • Is willing and able to work in all positions and assist in team member roles as needed (e.g., cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending).
  • Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.
Education and Experience
  • At least 2–3 years restaurant management experience.
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus.
Compensation

Applebee’s® Assistant Managers earn $15.38 to $26.44 per hour, approximately $44,850 to $68,500 annually based on a 50‑hour work week. Potential monthly bonus may apply based on location.

Physical Standards
  • Work various shifts, including weekends.
  • Stand and move well‑paced for up to ten (10) hours.
  • Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc., up to 50 pounds.
  • Read and write to facilitate communication; possess finger and hand dexterity for small tools and equipment.
