Goodhue County Health & Human Services is seeking qualified applicants for a HHS Financial Assistance Supervisor I in the Income Maintenance Unit. This role is responsible for overseeing public assistance program operations, ensuring compliance with Federal and State statutes, and promoting continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and support staff, lead recruitment and training, foster a diverse and inclusive workplace, and promote team development.
- Manage budgets, contracts, and program policies.
- Analyze and interpret policies and rules for income maintenance programs such as; supplemental nutritional assistance program (SNAP), cash assistance, health care, and other assistance programs.
- Conduct case reviews, monitor systems and reports, and implement procedural improvements.
- Serve as a system security liaison, attend hearings, approve billings and support outreach efforts.

Minimum Qualifications- Two years of experience providing lead work direction to staff involved in the determination of eligibility for financial assistance programs or work in the collection of child support.
- One year of experience providing lead work direction to staff involved in the determination of eligibility for financial assistance programs or work in the collections of child support and completion of two years of study at an accredited two year or four- year college/university, with emphasis in the behavioral sciences, business or closely related subject, with at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits.
- Six months of experience providing lead work direction to staff involved in determination of eligibility for financial assistance programs or work in the collection of child support and a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business or closely related subject.
- Three years of experience as an Eligibility Worker, Child Support Officer or in similar/equivalent work in determining eligibility for financial assistance programs or work in the collection of child support.
- Two years of experience either as an Eligibility Worker, Child Support Officer or the equivalent, and completion of two years of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college/university, with emphasis in the behavioral sciences, business or closely related subject, with at least 23 quarter credits or 16 semester credits.
- Eighteen months of experience as an Eligibility Worker, Child Support Officer or the equivalent, and a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business or closely related subject.
County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The Financial Assistance Supervisor I is compensated at salary grade 113 ($77,587 – $120,224 Annually).
