Balfour Beatty have been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic SIP Superintendent to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.

• Supervisor all SIP activities across multiple work fronts
• Manage scaffolding access strategy to support all construction ME&I work
• Supervise SIP supervisors and subcontractor teams
• Ensure compliance with approved method statements, ITPs, drawings, and specifications
• Enforce HSE standards for work at height, coating application, and insulation works
• Monitor progress, productivity, and manpower deployment
• Resolve site constraints, clashes, and technical issues
• Support construction reporting, as-built documentation, and handover dossiers

• Minimum 10-15 years’ experience in industrial projects (Oil & Gas, Power, Petrochemical)
• Minimum 5-10 years Superintended or Senior SIP coordination role
• Strong experience in scaffolding systems, insulation works, and industrial coatings
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of COW processes and best practices.
• Ability to interpret data and analyse performance metrics.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  
  Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Understanding of relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Scaffolding Supervisor / Inspector Certification
• Advanced scaffolding Card
• CITB-SMSTS
• CCNSG-LATS
• IOSH Health & Safety Trained
• Temporary Works Supervisor Training/Coordinator Qualificatio
