Design Control & Technical Governance
Own and manage the Site Technical Query (STQ) Procedure and Register.
Maintain Site Master Engineering Drawings, ensuring all mark‑ups are captured, controlled, and returned to the design office for accurate as‑building.
Control and communicate Design Change revisions to all AFC deliverables.
Ensure all engineering activities comply with company governance processes, standards, and approval pathways.
Risk, Quality & Safety
Identify project and programme risks early, drive mitigation, and escalate issues promptly to the PEM.
Promote a safety‑first, right‑first‑time culture across all engineering and construction interfaces.
Apply deep understanding of CDM 2015 and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED/PE(S)
R) requirements in day‑to‑day decision‑making.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with multi‑discipline design teams and site construction teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Support the transition of design intent into safe, buildable, and compliant site execution.
About You
Qualifications & Certifications
Degree or HND in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
Valid CSCS or CCNSG card.
Experience & Competencies
Strong background in both multi‑discipline engineering design and construction site environments.
Significant experience in high‑hazard regulated industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemicals, or Nuclear.
Thorough understanding of process safety management, including management of change.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence, challenge, and support site teams.
Working Arrangements
This is a full‑time site‑based role at the Project Office in Teesside. An initial period will be spent part‑time with the design team in Manchester to build relationships and gain familiarity with the engineering scope
