Tees Dance is entering an exciting new chapter. Having recently become a registered charity, we are growing our core team to support the next phase of our work across the Tees Valley.

We are recruiting for a Participation & Engagement Manager to work closely with our Founder/CEO and Board, helping to strengthen participation, partnerships, visibility and impact. This role sits at the heart of our organisation and will shape how we work with communities, artists and partners in the years ahead.

We are a small, values-led organisation and we care deeply about how we work as well as what we deliver. We are looking for people who are collaborative, reflective, organised and excited by place-based, community-rooted work.

Overview of role

The Participation & Engagement Manager will lead on Tees Dance’s community and education programmes, building strong relationships with participants, artists, partners and stakeholders across the Tees Valley.

This role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery. You will coordinate programmes, support freelance artists, ensure care‑led and inclusive practice, and help develop clear pathways for participation and progression across our work with children & young people, families, elders and communities.

Job Title: Participation & Engagement Manager

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)

Hours: Part‑time 22.5 – 30 hours (to be negotiated)

Contract: Permanent

Location: Home‑based working with field work/face‑to‑face meetings when needed in the Tees Valley (office work may be available in the future). You must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.

Reports to: CEO

Full-time equivalent: 37.5 hours per week

Annual Leave: 20 days plus 8 bank holidays, 1 extra day each year earned as service (up to 5 days) and a two‑week office closure over Christmas/New Year – pro rata equivalent
