Job SummaryAs a Lube Technician at Crown Motors, you will be responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections. You will ensure that vehicles are operating efficiently and help maintain our high standards of customer service. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals with a passion for cars and a desire to build a career in the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities- Oil Changes & Fluid Services:
- Perform oil and filter changes, using the proper grade of oil and following manufacturer specifications.
- Check and top off all vehicle fluids, including transmission, coolant, brake, and power steering fluids.
- Replace air filters, cabin filters, and wiper blades as needed.
- Inspections:
- Conduct multi-point inspections on customer vehicles, including brakes, tires, lights, and undercarriage components.
- Identify potential issues during inspections and report them to the service advisor.
- Ensure that inspections are thorough and meet dealership and safety standards.
- Tire Services:
- Rotate and balance tires, ensuring even wear and optimal performance.
- Inspect tire tread depth and pressure, recommending replacement when necessary.
- Basic Maintenance:
- Inspect and maintain batteries, replacing them if required.
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, fuses, and other simple components.
- Lubricate chassis and suspension components as required.
- Customer Communication:
- Clearly communicate any vehicle issues found during inspections to service advisors.
- Assist with explaining maintenance services to customers if needed.
- Shop Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Properly dispose of used oil, filters, and other waste materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of oil, filters, and other supplies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including oil changes and tire rotations.
- Ability to work with hand tools and automotive equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to learn and receive on-the-job training.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable working in a busy service environment, both indoors and outdoors.
This role requires working in the service bay with potential exposure to oil, grease, fumes, and loud noise. The position may involve working on weekends and holidays.
