Description:
The Medical Hematologist/Oncologist provides outpatient chemotherapy and infusions as a solo provider.
A midlevel provider will assist with patient flow, orders, and other duties.
Client consults are required with on-call responsibilities.
The physician will work directly with emergency room physicians or hospitalists for any admissions.
The role involves all aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients.
The physician will provide oversight for both the oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services.
The infusion center requires the physician to be onsite for all treatments.
Services provided include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood/platelet transfusions, hormone therapy, antibiotic therapy, rheumatoid arthritis injections, and therapeutic phlebotomies.
The physician will manage an average of 15 to 20 patients per day across various oncology and hematology cases.
The facility supports a dedicated team, including registered nurses and medical assistants.
Reason for coverage is due to a shortage of providers.
Credentialing is expected to take 30 to 60 days.
