The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Community College District is collaborative and inclusive, serving a diverse student population. Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the full-time college instructor to teach classes and participate in processes that improve instruction and programs, support student success and completion, and advance the district’s mission and values.
- Classification:
Placement on the current Faculty Salary Schedule commensurate with education and experience. - Full-time instructional faculty are contracted to work 175 days per year (164 days of classroom instruction and 11 days of professional growth). Instructors may have up to 18 weeks off during summer and winter intercessions. Fall and Spring semesters are approximately 17 weeks each with about 82 instructional days per semester. Semester dates and holidays are available in the academic calendars.

- $2,000/year doctorate differential.

Specific ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities designated below are primary to the instructor role.
- Classroom Responsibilities:
Meet classes and laboratories as scheduled; develop and implement instruction aligned with the official course outline and district guidelines; support online/hybrid delivery as required; maintain online course components and ensure student-instructor contact; distribute a syllabus in the first week; provide regular feedback and timely grading; assign final grades per policy and law; respect student rights; submit requisitions for instructional materials;
refer students to tutoring and services; supervise field activities when required; provide academic assistance during office hours; participate in professional development; submit required administrative paperwork including student learning outcomes; handle discipline-specific responsibilities as assigned. - Additional Responsibilities:
Schedule and promote office hour availability; engage in district governance and curriculum review; participate in program review, planning, and hiring processes as needed; attend meetings; assess learning outcomes; engage in professional development; meet flex requirements; participate in evaluations; maintain records; adhere to district policies on safety and property; report absences; recommend instructional supplies and equipment; fulfill collective bargaining obligations; perform discipline-specific duties as assigned.
