Program Coordinator/Admissions Counselor

Brief Description

This position provides direct administrative and recruiting support for the Degree Completion program. Primary skills needed to successfully perform this job include excellent customer service, organization, strong use of technology, and excellent communication skills (oral & written).

Responsibilities
  • Recruit high yield students and meet enrollment goals set by the Assistant Director of Non-Traditional Admissions and Dean of Enrollment.
  • Travel approximately 2–3 times per month to college and transfer fairs, high schools, churches, and other constituent events.
  • Work with prospective students and direct all aspects of undergraduate recruitment for an assigned region.
  • Assist students through the entire admissions process, including financial aid documentation and other enrollment processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • Two years of administrative assistant or office coordination experience, or one or more years of student recruitment or sales experience.
  • Initiative to learn and maintain procedures and processes of the Degree Completion Office.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Ability to use key technology tools such as CRM and SIS and to learn new programs.
Essential Functions
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly plans and goals for recruiting each entering term.
  • Maintain high-level enrollment goals provided by the Degree Completion Director.
  • Evaluate and improve current recruitment processes, procedures, and strategies.
  • Coordinate financial aid advisement for new students in cooperation with Financial Aid Office.
  • Maintain understanding of recruitment information, including financial aid procedures, transcript evaluation, registration processes, and CRM tool use.
  • Review and accept applicants under regular acceptance criteria.
  • Provide excellent customer service experiences to prospective and current students.
  • Process new student applications: gather required documents, schedule interviews, assist registration, and more.
  • General support for Degree Completion programs as needed.

    Manage and assist students, faculty, and staff that visit the department.
  • Handle office needs: processing check requests, filing, copying, deliveries.
  • Facilitate the Retention process, track registration, enter candidate Ed Plans into Colleague.
  • Collaborate with the CELT department for effective operation of Canvas system for faculty, students, and staff.
  • Monitor the degree completion budget and assist with budget development.
  • Assist in coordinating all Degree Completion events.
  • Support the Director, Degree Completion.
  • Light tech support for Degree Completion department adjuncts.
  • Oversee record keeping of syllabi and textbook orders.
  • Assist with organization of the Degree Completion shared Drive and fillable forms.
  • Create flyers, postcards, announcements; update digital resources, social media, and website content for Degree Completion.
