We are seeking a Mechanical Machine Design Engineer to collaborate with our Fabrication Shop in Shelton, Washington
.

• Design lumber manufacturing equipment for new installations and rebuilds
• Manage multiple projects at various stages, large and small
• Develop and improve lumber processing equipment designs
• Utilize 3D modeling software to create designs and drawings
• Provide direction to assemblers and machinists
• Deliver completed projects that consider the complete application and operational needs
• Conduct research and coordination to establish design concepts for new equipment
• Plan and oversee equipment installation, upgrades, and start‑ups
• Contribute creative solutions in an innovative team environment
• Continuously learn and improve industry and equipment knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in the lumber industry and/or machine design
• Experience with Solid Works or other 3D modeling software
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, drives, welding, and machining preferred
• Machine‑center alignment and installation experience helpful
• Strong problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The general wage range for this position is $65,000 to $115,000 per year, dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and education.
