We are seeking a Mechanical Machine Design Engineer to collaborate with our Fabrication Shop in Shelton, Washington
.
- Design lumber manufacturing equipment for new installations and rebuilds
- Manage multiple projects at various stages, large and small
- Develop and improve lumber processing equipment designs
- Utilize 3D modeling software to create designs and drawings
- Provide direction to assemblers and machinists
- Deliver completed projects that consider the complete application and operational needs
- Conduct research and coordination to establish design concepts for new equipment
- Plan and oversee equipment installation, upgrades, and start‑ups
- Contribute creative solutions in an innovative team environment
- Continuously learn and improve industry and equipment knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in the lumber industry and/or machine design
- Experience with Solid Works or other 3D modeling software
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, drives, welding, and machining preferred
- Machine‑center alignment and installation experience helpful
- Strong problem‑solving, multi‑tasking, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The general wage range for this position is $65,000 to $115,000 per year, dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and education.
