- Installs, configures, tests, and troubleshoots Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment that are part of the district's Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Works independently at the journey level and engages in complex layout work of process control networks, telecommunications systems, microwave communications, video display systems, and electrical and mechanical systems associated with the Transportation Management Center (TMC) and Field Element Network (FEN).
- Prepares, constructs, and installs ITS field equipment as part of the district's capital support program.
- Assists in the preparation and/or review of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects installing ITS facilities.
Eligibility may be determined by your score on the Electrical Engineering Technician II exam. Candidates without current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment must be on the state examination list.
QualificationsApplicants must possess the minimum qualifications as stated in the Classification Specification and hold a valid Electrical Engineering Technician II exam score or be on the state examination list. Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and appointment.
