MRI Tech (per diem) | Redding, CA

Position: MRI tech (per diem) Days

Shift Notes: 07:00 - 19:30

Location: Redding, CA, 96001

Start date: 01/17/2026 - 07/17/2026

Pay: $55 to $63 per hour

Position Summary

Preference given to candidates available for a full schedule through the end of January and the first week of February.
Day shift, 12-hour shifts.

Start date:

1/17.
Minimum compliance requirements must be met prior to starting; full compliance profile must be completed within two weeks after the start date.
Position is Per Diem for 26 weeks.
Required Compliance Items:

  • Active nursing license verification
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable
  • Proof of MMR and Varicella vaccination or attestation of vaccination/declination

The MRI Technologist performs a variety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures on patients of all ages to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The technologist ensures high-quality images, patient safety, and compliance with all established protocols and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and department protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, obtain pertinent medical history, and ensure proper screening for MRI safety.
  • Position patients and operate MRI equipment to produce diagnostic images.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, maintaining effective communication throughout the exam.
  • Review images for quality and accuracy before submitting to the radiologist for interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate records of exams performed, contrast usage, and patient information.
  • Follow radiation and MRI safety protocols, including magnet zone regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of MRI equipment and work area.
  • Assist with training new technologists or students when assigned.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program.
  • Certification/Licensure:
    • ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required.
    • Current BLS certification (AHA) required.
    • State licensure as applicable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience preferred.
