Shasta Area Safety Communications Agency (SHASCOM-911)

Serving California’s Shasta County, SHASCOM-911 is a joint powers agency that provides 9-1-1 and dispatch services for the Anderson Police Department, the Redding Police and Fire Departments, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, and Shasta County’s EMS providers. SHASCOM serves a county population of 181,586 with a 2025 budget of $9 million and a staffing of 50 FTEs. The agency receives approximately 25,000 calls each month.

Director

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Director is an executive-level position with the full scope of responsibilities associated with leading a stand-alone professional public safety agency. The Director is responsible for the effective and efficient management of SHASCOM, ensuring high-quality support to member agencies, exceptional customer service, and the highest level of safety for emergency service providers and the public they serve.

SHASCOM plays a critical role within the broader local public safety network, and this position ensures its reliability and operational excellence.
