Overview
Break Relief Nurse (RN) – Telemetry at Shasta Regional Medical Center seeks RN professionals for a 6‑hour Per Diem break relief opportunity working nights (9 pm–3 am). Minimum 1 year of acute‑care experience required. Shasta Regional is a 226‑bed acute‑care facility in Northern California, accredited by the Joint Commission and recognized among the nation’s top cardiovascular hospitals. Responsibilities- Work 1–2 shifts per week or more as a night break relief RN in the Telemetry unit.
- Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
- Provide direct patient care within scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
- Communicate with physicians regarding patient condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic results, and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and treatment response.
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Previous acute‑care hospital experience preferred.
- Ventilator management experience preferred.
- Medical‑surgical nurse‑board certified (RN‑BC) or similar certification preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Competitive compensation; current range $55.32 per hour. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreement and employment status. Starting compensation will depend on skills, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
