The Nurse Clinical Advancement Program (NCAP) recognizes professional clinical full‑time and part‑time nurses for their expertise and engagement in unit, department and organizational activities. Nurses are awarded annual bonuses for participation in the program and they increase in value at each level.
ResponsibilitiesThe Staff RN is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and indirectly to the House Supervisor. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the comprehensive delivery of both direct and indirect patient care in the peri‑operative environment, employing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). This role extends across diverse patient demographics, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate care with the surgical team, including surgeons and anesthesiologists, ensuring cohesive patient management.
- Lead and support the OR Technician and other personnel while upholding the highest standards of professional nursing practice.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate a seamless continuum of care and enhance patient flow.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies.
- Actively engage in performance improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and professional development in‑services.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for colleagues, offering guidance and support as needed.
Education, Experience, Training
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintenance.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- Minimum of one year previous peri‑operative experience or on‑the‑job training.
- Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Shasta Regional Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs. The current compensation range for this role is $45.48 to $68.40 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined when selecting an applicant for hire, considering factors such as skillset, years of experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
