American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring prior travel nursing experience and a CA RN license.

• Acute care Med/Surg unit in a Level II trauma hospital with 30 beds
• Patient population includes medical and post-op/surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1 to 5
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled 6:45-7:15, every other weekend
• 4 weekend shifts required within a 4-week schedule
• Floats to telemetry at a 1:4 ratio and may float between Med/Surg floors
• First to float among staff
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Charge nurse functions as clinical supervisor providing break relief without taking patient assignments
• 2 nurse aides on days and 1 on nights
• No ventilator patients on unit; portable telemetry box used as needed with monitor tech support
• 24/7 in-house hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy coverage
• No dedicated IV team

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• COVID vaccine required
• 2-3 years of experience in Med/Surg specialty required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry rhythms
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

• One shift of floor-specific orientation provided
• Holidays worked into the permanent staff rotation
• Holiday RTO may be considered but cannot be guaranteed
• Navy scrub color required
• Must be a team player
• First-day orientation includes a pass/fail sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Candidates who fail Relias dysrhythmia or sterile technique testing twice are ineligible with this health system for 6 months
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility within this health system in the past year
